Treatment Methods

Traditional Chinese Medicine

The Fundamental principle of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is centred on restoring the body's equilibrium. Achieving balance can significantly reduce or eliminate illnesses and associated symptoms. Balance serves as a preventative measure against disease. Having a particular concern is unnecessary. Through comprehensive evaluation and TCM diagnosis, your qualified practitioner will develop a customized treatment plan to sustain your optional well-being.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture employs the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to elicit change and activate the body's inherent healing mechanism.

To prepare for childbirth, schedule two weekly sessions from week thirty-six until delivery.

For IVF support, schedule weekly sessions three months before the stimulation phase. During the stimulation phase, you should schedule two sessions per week. Following this, continue with weekly sessions until you reach twelve weeks of pregnancy.

For embryo transfer, you should schedule appointments immediately before and after the transfer.

Schedule your initial appointment and two follow-up sessions in subsequent weeks (i.e. three appointments across three weeks).

Celluma LED Light Therapy

High-intensity light-emitting diodes (LEDs) can harness specific wavelengths of light to trigger a natural healing response in human tissues. Scientific research reveals that LED light therapy can enhance blood circulation, accelerate tissue repair, combat acne bacteria, reduce inflammation, enhance skin quality, diminish under-eye wrinkles, and alleviate muscle and joint discomfort, stiffness, spasms, and arthritis-related pain.

Studies suggest that cells absorb light particles (photons), converting their energy into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a cellular energy form. Elevated ATP levels power vital processes like DNA synthesis, protein production, cell proliferation, and cell regeneration. The LED light source enhances cellular performance by providing compromised cells extra energy. For instance, fibroblast cells boost collagen and elastin production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and promoting wound healing.

Celluma LED devices are FDA-cleared to treat various conditions, including facial wrinkles, inflammatory acne vulgaris, blood circulation issues, muscle and joint discomfort, tension, pain, spasm, and arthritis. Furthermore, Celluma holds the CE Mark in the European Union, indicating its status as a Class II medical device for dermal wound healing – a pioneering achievement in its field.

Electric Stimulation

In this method, small electrodes are affixed to the acupuncture needles. This technique is applicable for alleviating pain, promoting emotional well-being, aiding stroke rehabilitation, addressing neuropathy and facilitating birth preparation and induction.

Fire Cupping

This method uses a flame to remove oxygen from the cups, creating a suction effect. The suction helps blood vessels expand, bringing tension to the surface and allowing oxygen-rich blood to circulate. This process reduces inflammation and supports the healing of fascia. Cupping therapy addresses pain, inflammation, excessive heat, immune system imbalances, and common colds.

Gua Sha

It involves scraping or stroking the skin with a jade massage tool to promote circulation, release tension, and address various ailments. Gua sha alleviates pain, promotes healing, and improves overall well-being.

Moxibustion

It is a form of heat therapy that involves burning a super herb known as moxa (mugwort) near or on specific acupuncture points. This gentle heat therapy activates acupuncture points by enhancing circulation. I use smokeless moxa in the clinic, which produces minimal to no smoke when burned, making it a convenient option in clinic settings.

There are various types of moxibustion techniques:

  • Direct Moxa: A moxa cone is applied directly on the skin.
  • Indirect Moxa: A moxa stick is positioned above the acupuncture point.
  • Moxa Tiger Roller / Moxa Box: Moxa is placed in a moxa roller/ moxa box and applied directly on the body, allowing for more controlled and uniform heat application.

Shonishin - Pediatric Needleless Acupuncture

It is commonly known as pediatric acupuncture, specifically designed for infants and toddlers. It is a gentle, noninvasive technique mimicking the effects of acupuncture. Special tools are used to stroke, tap, rub and press the skin. Occasionally, tiny press spheres are placed on specific acupuncture points for extra stimulation and are taken off several hours after the treatment. Shonishin offers a natural alternative for concerns like colic, GERD, constipation and diarrhea, allergies, asthma, eczema, bedwetting and more.

Shonishin, or needleless acupuncture, is highly effective for infants and toddlers due to the superficial nature of their meridian system, making deep needle penetration unnecessary for achieving positive therapeutic results.
